About 18km to the southwest of Lampang, Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, in the village of Ko Kha, is a beautiful wooden Lanna temple with walls like a medieval castle, and is one of the oldest standing structures in the country. To get here, catch an eastbound sorngtaaou on Lampang’s Th Rawp Wiang to Ko Kha. From Ko Kha charter a motorcycle taxi (40B) for the remaining 3km to the temple. From Lampang’s bus station will make the trip for 350B.
