Overview
Experience the South of Cambodia on this great tour. You will depart from Phnom Penh in the morning and head south to Takeo Province. Your 1st stop is Tonle Bati Lake. Explore the ruins of 800 year old Ta Phrom and visit Phnom Chisor Mountain and climb its impressive 503 steps to discover ancient ruins at the peak. Take a speed boat to Phnom Da temple, dating from the 1st century. Visit the seaside town of Kep and explore Kampot known worldwide for its amazing pepper.
Itinerary
Phnom Penh – Takeo
After breakfast we travel to Takeo province, south of Phnom Penh on National Road No.2. See Tonle Bati, which is a small lake popular for picnic goers. Visit Ta Phrom and explore the ruins of these two 12th century temples. In the afternoon, we continue on to Phnom Chisor Mountain. Climb the 503 steps to the top and discover some preserved 10 -11th century temple ruins. Spend the night in a guest house at Takeo.
Takeo – Kampot
Following your breakfast, take a speed boat to Phnom Da temple, belonging to the Phounan era of early Khmer civilization (1st-5th century). After we finish lunch, you will be transferred to Kampot Province. Stop to visit the seaside town of Kep and stay overnight at Nataya Resort in Kampot.
Kampot - Phnom Penh
When you finish your breakfast, visit the Zoo in Kampot and the rapids of the Kampot River, Teuk Chhou, a park used for picnics and swimming. You will also visit Kampot’s famous black pepper and Durian farms. When we finish lunch you will be transported back to Phnom Penh. Finish Cambodia Southern Glimpse Tour.
